My name is Meaghan. I am a sophomore at N.C. State University with a major in English and a concentration in creative writing. I have a blog on MySpace that was popular amongst my friends when I was in high-school but has sense become passe. I then attempted to start a blog by creating my own relationship advice column, but I think the real motivation behind that was my need for organization; the idea of a completely open blog is a little scary to me but it’s what I really want and I want it somewhere that people might actually read it.
So, this blog is mostly for me to write whatever I want regarding my life, people, places and things that I come into contact with, and, well, anything really. As I have discovered in the past three years of writing my blog on MySpace, sometimes it’s just me rambling my own jumbled thoughts, other times it’s merely updating everyone on my fascinating life, and still other times posts are centered on a distinct topic on which I would like to discuss my thoughts. Right now, when I am on winter break, I plan to keep this updated regularly with at least one post a week, but in the past year or so, I was lucky if I had time to post once a month on MySpace. I think part of that was due to the fact that people stopped reading and commenting on it so I felt no incentive. I hope that this blog will generate more interest, but regardless, I have other reasons for starting it, which will hopefully keep me motivated in updating it.
This is also an experiment into my own personal growth. Today, during a boring period, I looked back at my blog on MySpace and realized how drastically I had changed since I began using it in 2005. Though in a moment of desperation for some sort of outlet, I did post a blog today, it didn’t seem appropriate for that post to somehow be connected to the many posts of my past that were about people I don’t even know anymore and situations that I don’t even remember occurring. I decided I needed a new, fresh start on a strictly blogging website, so here I am. I hope you all enjoy.
